Personal Essentials and Equipment to Bring

Essential pilgrimage gear focuses on comfort, health, and navigation, including sturdy, broken-in walking shoes, moisture-wicking socks, lightweight layers (rain gear, sun protection), a first-aid kit (blister care is key!), water, basic toiletries, and crucial documents like ID, money, and phone with a charger/adapter. Specific religious items, such as a holy rosary or a passport, are also important for identification and documentation.

Clothing & Footwear

  • Sturdy Shoes: Broken-in walking/hiking shoes and sandals or slippers for evenings.
  • Socks: Breathable, moisture-wicking (merino wool is great) to prevent blisters.
  • Layers: Quick-dry shirts, lightweight trousers, fleece, and a waterproof jacket/poncho.
  • Headwear: Hat for sun, warm hat.

Gear & Accessories
